AT&T Responds To T-Mobile’s New Rate Plans With “Who Cares"

T-Mobile’s CEO hit hard against the current state of wireless subsidized sales stating “this is the biggest crock of shit I’ve ever heard in my entire life.” AT&T shrugged off the attacks on their network and business plan with a simple “whatever.”
Sprint offered up a slightly more embellished statement on today’s T-Mobile news:
“Sprint gives its customers the best of both worlds with Truly Unlimited 4G LTE data on smartphones and the best value for customers with a savings of $110 over T-Mobile when comparing the total cost of ownership over two years for the 16 GB version of the Samsung Galaxy SIII,” Sprint said. “In addition, true no term contract options are available with Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile and Sprint As You Go.”
According to AllThingsD, Verizon wasn’t immediately available for comment

New iPhone 5S Prototype Leaked In Pictures

GSMArena has revealed a bunch of iPhone 5S "prototype" images sourced from a tipster, and speculates as to whether they could bear any kind of resemblance to the Cupertino company’s forthcoming seventh-gen smartphone. Revealing a curved display and form factor akin to the product outlined in a patent Apple was granted just days ago, it may well just be that an individual with Photoshop skills has decided to take advantage of the circumstances, but with many sources suggesting Apple’s next iPhone could hit the market in a matter of a couple of months, it’s certainly worth checking out.
It always seems suspicious when a leaker of what could be a significant device can somehow be among the first to get their hands on it, yet cannot seem to locate a decent camera to take a snap of it. Unfortunately here, the images of the alleged prototype suffer from the same dose of the VGA syndrome, and it’s very hard to make anything out under the overlay of what looks like intentional mist.
Despite the issues with the image itself, the device illustrated suggests a radical redesign from the current iPhone 5′s form factor. As aforementioned, the curved display slopes toward the edges, while the omni-present home button is also notably missing. The back of the device looks to share the same color scheme as the darker of the two current flagship iPhones, with that Black & Slate combination working to a pleasing aesthetic effect.

If this so-called prototype does indeed reflect a future iPhone, it’s unlikely to be the next one; but if it is, I think we can safely bet it won’t be denoted the "S" moniker. Both the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S have remained almost identical to their respective predecessors, and unless the fruit company is planning a break from tradition, I think this would have to down as "big" release warranting a full number increase.

The idea of a curved display within a product such as the much-hyped iWatch, would seem a great deal more plausible. Back in February, reports suggested as much, and although the possibility of the recent patent filing manifesting itself in a product at some point, it probably won’t be just yet.

LG Optimus G2 Spotted With Snapdragon 800 Processor, Headed To T-Mobile

Benchmark filings for handsets are something we’ve long since gotten used to seeing for phones that are expected and/or phones that are rumored. Which is why we’re somewhat surprised, albeit delighted to see a benchmark filing for a device we didn’t expect. The LG D801 is a mystery device and about all we can tell from the filing is that it has a Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor and a resolution of 1794 x 1080. The benchmark result show the device as outperforming the HTC One and the iPad 4, two devices that now sit atop the benchmark charts.
Further details about the D801 are coming up sparse but what really caught our attention was the build name: “g2_tmo_us.” That’s the kind of build name we see on devices that are heading stateside to T-Mobile’s store shelves. Given that this is a LG device, could we be looking at the Optimus G2 on Tmo?
It’s a guess based on less than perfect information so take it as such, not to mention it’s the first time I’ve seen the G2 come up for Magenta shelves. That said, I would welcome the Optimus G2 from our T-Mobile and LG overlords if that’s in fact what this device is sitting side-by-side with the HTC One andGalaxy S 4 on store shelves.
